GRENADA (Dec. 13, 2011) – Guests who want to look and feel their best during a visit to Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada can now enjoy Shellac Manicures by Creative Nails offering a selection of colors for a smudge-proof, chip-proof, instant-dry manicure. The Shellac Manicure service takes the same amount of time as a traditional manicure, however it is 100% dry upon completion and will not chip or dull for up to 14 days.
"Offering the Shellac Manicure service means guests can go straight to the beach or pool without worrying about ruining their fresh manicure," said Sir Royston Hopkin, K.C.M.G., chairman and owner of Spice Island Beach Resort. "This terrific service saves time and guarantees a perfect manicure every time."
In addition to Shellac Manicures, the luxurious, full-service, 5,600-square-foot Janissa's Spa encompasses the same elegant, tropical feel found throughout the entire resort, complemented by soft colors, natural materials such as pebble stone inlays, and stunning views of the surrounding hills and lush flora.
Introducing the Janissa's Spa 'Tea Menu'
"We take pride in the authenticity of our treatments at Janissa's Spa, using indigenous ingredients and spices in our masks, scrubs and oils," said Sir Royston. All teas served at Janissa's Spa are freshly brewed for each individual and served after treatments as part of our beverage service. Upon arrival, the Spa Receptionist will take a guest's tea order. Hot aromatic teas such as Cinnamon Zeylanicum, Zingiber Officinale and Cymbopogon Citratus are each recommended to complement different types of treatments. All teas are served in their natural state along with local Grenadian Honey as sweetener.

Treatments performed at Janissa's Spa are as natural as the facility's surroundings, providing guests with an extensive menu of services that incorporate local Grenadian herbs and spices. Using natural oils such as orange, grapefruit, cinnamon, aniseed and lemongrass soothes the body while adding exotic aromas to the air. Ginger, cinnamon and honey are essential elements combined to hydrate the skin during the spa's body scrubs and signature body wraps. Corn meal forms part of the granular blend for exfoliation in the homemade body polish. The key ingredient in the deep tissue massage is local Caribbean coconut oil, while citrus grapefruit oil adds zest to the Swedish massage.

Spa Director Tricia Thomas brings over ten years of experience in numerous high-end luxury chains in both London and the Caribbean. Thomas, a Grenadian, oversees all operations at Janissa's Spa and is working on growing the spa's list of in-house and local clientele by presenting new and inventive spa therapies.
Within the spa is the fitness center with all new, top-of-the-line equipment including treadmills, stationary bikes and a wide selection of free weights.
Guests can keep up with their fitness routines while away from home by mixing indoor and outdoor activity. They can enjoy a morning workout in the fitness center, a round or two of tennis on the new world-class Omnicourt® artificial turf surface court or a refreshing swim in the sparkling Caribbean Sea.
